The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) has launched a call for proposals within the framework of its initiative aimed at assessing and addressing the nexus between organized crime and terrorism in Africa.
This Call for Proposals seeks to provide funding to not-for-profit organisations working in the area of community dialogue and resilience, inclusive, sustainable alternatives in vulnerable communities, conflict prevention and mediation, and prevention of violent extremism whose projects target communities, including youth and women, in Côte d’Ivoire, Benin and Nigeria.
In order to be eligible for funding, applicants must:
- be a non-profit making organisation (CSOs including NGOs, CBOs) registered under the relevant Laws of the country where it will implement the proposed project;
- have been registered for not less than three (3) years;
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, i.e. not acting as an intermediary;
- demonstrate prior experience of at least three (3) years implementing activities in the area of community dialogue and resilience, promotion of inclusive, sustainable alternatives in vulnerable communities, conflict prevention and mediation, and prevention of violent extremism in the targeted country(ies);
- have a bank account in the organization’s names.
Proposals with budgets up to 20,000USD will be considered for award.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.
The deadline for the receipt of applications is 14 September 2025 – 23:59 CEST.
