The video showcases UNICRI's work in building gender-responsive resilience to violent extremism in the Sahel. This initiative,  generously supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), began by collecting field data to explore the specific needs of women, girls, men, and boys in rural and urban areas of Mali, Mauritania, and Niger. Moving from data collection to the publication of an in-depth report, UNICRI is transforming findings into action by delivering capacity-building workshops and equipping national authorities, civil society actors, media representatives, and religious leaders with tailored tools and knowledge on designing prevention of violent extremism initiatives that are grounded in solid gender analysis and tailored to local needs. Watch the video to learn how we are working to enhance resilience and empower local communities to prevent violent extremism through inclusive approaches in the Sahel.
